Bits of Life: High Expectancy

I've never liked those happy ending movies/tv series where the pretty girl is an outcast but noticed by the hottie. It's unrealistic and gives bad imaginations for young girls. No badass rich hunk genius will be a sweetheart who would chase you down and climb your insanely tall house just to say "I love you forever" and will not take a notice on a Victoria's Secret model. There will be a flaw in every guy you will meet, you would just have to go pass those flaws and focus on the great things he has.

A guy can be great of course, but they will not be exactly you'd see from twilight, notebook, dear john, juliet, and all those unrealistic romance movies. Stop wishing and making a list of what you want in a guy from movies, they will never exist other than in your dreams and movies. Movies and TV series gives a lot of hopes to young girls to build a list that cannot be meet. From this high expectancy, a girl will never be satisfied of the guy she is with or crushing on her, thus she will always feel like she is alone and there is no good guys out there, when maybe a great guy could be standing right in front of her.

Prince charming does exist, but only in the eyes of those who sees it that way. How? by him having the things that you love about AND you accepting and going past his flaws too. The ones that may seems perfect without flaws may be more deceiving until they start revealing their true self, and this goes to both guys and girls.

You can have a type, but not so much that it becomes an unrealistic walking list.

Quick Tips for Everything: Benefits of cooking yourself

Sometimes we love eating out because we deserve that break from the hustlin n bustlin that we do all day. But sometimes we also think about what goes in to our body. Well when in doubt, cook your own meal. Why? Cooking your own meal reassures yourself on what will go inside your body and how it is cooked (or made if it was a drink). Not only that, you would also be eating the portion you think is right until you're full (unless you're totally ok with leaving lots of leftovers). By cooking yourself, you would know the exact amount and the ingredients used for your meal, also you would know that your drinks aren't made with any ingredients that you may not want. You can even play around with the ingredients and mix whatever you want to try, just be creative.

You can also impress the girl/guy you're serving meal for before, during, and after cooking. Who knows what they would give in return for your home cooked meal ;)

Quick Tips for Everything: Basics

What every girls should have is the basics.
Starting from basic simple tops to the 3 basic colors, that is black, white, and beige/nude.

I can make this "quick tip" into a short essay, because I love basics, I love turning something so ordinary that is budget friendly into something that could look fashionable and luxurious. How? combine it with patterns, make color block, make contrast with the opposite color, put jewelries on top, sexify it with killer heels, it can be ANYTHING!

The basic tops are loose and fitted. The most common ones are turtle necks, tube tops/strapless, long/mid/no sleeve shirt, t-shirt, and of course tank tops that can be V-necks or squared or sweetheart shaped. Remember that different sized chest would affect the look of the top, so know your body and counter anything that would give a bad "look" on your chest with necklaces.

Lets not forget basic colors. Just like a simple pair of heels with or without platforms, we should have black, white, and beige. It's simple, chic, and matches with just about everything we wear. Although always remember that unfortunately not all color suit our skin tone, so make sure to try it on if you have a little doubt after putting the clothes right on your arm or next to your face.

Basically, just know what you like, know your own style and embrace them. Confidence of wearing something that is already amazing makes it even more fantastic to look at not just by ourselves.

Cosmetics Review: Bright White Mask by Boscia

I have been searching for any skincare that would brighten my skin and maybe, hopefully, miraculously, wishfully, if it's not so much to ask would lighten my skin to its original state as it used to be. Boscia just came to where I live in Sephora and I actually have been wanting the Luminizing Black Mask. When I saw the bright mask, I thought I should give it a try after seeing the good reviews on both Sephora and Makeupalley.

First thing that I noticed was one of the main ingredients is Titanium Dioxide. This is kind of the reason why I got it, because from what I know is Titanium Dioxide is commonly known as one of the ingredient of sunscreens that gives out that whitish color on our face.

Honestly, I think this is better than the black mask, because it feels like one of those pore strips from Biore. If you leave it long enough, you would see small dots of your dried out bumps/whiteheads. Although peeling the mask off can be a painful thing to do, literally. When I peeled mine off, it was also pulling my skin, so I had to do it extra gently and slowly otherwise my skin would be red from the pull.

There was s review that I saw, saying that this mask is meant for combination and/or dry skin because unlike most masks that dries the skin out after taking/peeling/washing the mask off the face, this tighten pores and the skin yet moisturizing (something like that). This is true for me, because my skin did feel tight in a good way and pores look less visible and my skin is more vibrant and yet moisturized.

The description said to wait about 20 minutes after application. Honestly it dried in about 10 minutes or less for me, until... I realized that the application that I did was not completely right, it was too little for it actually to "peel off" easily. Unlike the black mask, the bright mask needs fully cover our skin in a way that you cannot skin your skin, otherwise it will take a long time and be difficult to peel off for it is too thin to peel off without breaking little by little bits.

The cost though... It's not as crazy as glam glow masks. Honestly this and the black mask does the same thing but cheaper, in my opinion. I got it for $49.7 in Sephora of where I live. Although it is still SO VERY expensive, especially the bright mask. Why? you need to cover your skin all over without having any skin showing for an easier peel. You can still peel the mask off even with little amount of mask on your skin, but it takes so much longer because it would peel bit by bit of thin paper like mask.

I LOVE this mask, but I would only buy this when I have the luxury to, but when I have more important things or better and cheaper things to spend, i'll pass. For now, i'm going to only use this once a week or 2 weeks since I have the black mask and enjoy it while it last.

Cosmetics Review: Color Reveal LipBalm by Sephora Collection

Where I live, lip balms that claims to bring out the natural color of our lips (or something along that line) is still new. Another one that I know is from Dior. When I saw this, I smeared it a little on my lips and on my friends' lips.

So basically, the color of the lipbalm itself is peachy pink. When it is swatched once on the bare skin, you can see that it has a VERY sheer pink color to the point where it seem invisible if you look further away from the skin. Although when you swatch it 5 times on the skin, the pink-ish color is more visible than a one-time swatch.

The texture of  the lipbalm is non sticky at all, it goes on very smoothly. It does moisturize the lips, but compared to Lip Glow it doesn't stay as long. Although it is better than most drugstore lipbalms where you practically need to swipe it if water touches the lips. This lipbalm only need few times of swiping maybe after eating or a glass of drink. Depending what you are eating and/or drinking, sometimes the moist feeling is still there but not as much.

The application of the lipbalm is very easy since the size is in my opinion small so it doesn't easily run off the lip line. The size compared to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine is approximately 1 mm smaller in diameter.

The color on my lips with only 1 swipe seems very natural to the point where it just looks like wearing a regular lipbalm with just a touch of baby pink on. 5 swipes however have more pink color to it as if wearing a sheer pink lipstick, which those who like sheer lipsticks would love.

Bare

1 swipe

5 swipes

This cost me $13, which I think is a good price for a of Dior Lip Glow if you're on a budget. Then again there is not much to no other brands that have this kind of lip balm that I know of..

Bits of Life: Say Cheese!

These days there are many bloggers in any kind of social blogging media who loves to share their outfits of the day. I love following enormous amount of fashion bloggers on Instagram because i'm more of picture person than a long paragraph. Now that being said, there are so many girls who posts their pictures without a smile. Why? Is it because media always have cover spread where women are never smiling unless they are in a teen magazine or health magazine cover? Is it because these girls want to look "sophisticated" and "cool"?

I used to take pictures without smiling, instead I did the pout kind of thing with my lips, not duck face by the way. My mum started to notice and told me off by telling me that I look mean and snobby. Of course as a trying-to-rebel kind of teen I was, I thought she was just being silly to say that to me. So I started to smile with my teeth showing in front of my mum, and gradually I realized that I was the one being silly to think my mum was silly to say that. She was right, I looked prettier and more genuine. Since then I've always smiled or make silly face on cameras.

Not in any kind of attraction way, I think when girls are smiling they look very pretty, especially when the smile is not completely made up. To me a real smile comes from the eyes and the heart. How? Think of something that makes you smile, anything would do. This isn't just my opinion, it's also from many guys I know. They have told me when they actually look for a girl to talk to, the first thing they see is their smile.

I'll be honest, I follow certain people on Instagram and yes the smiling thing is one of the factors why I follow most of them. I guess you could say that I think when someone have so many followers and wears beautiful garments, yet putting no smile makes me think that they're too good for everything and everyone. This is just an opinion of mine.

A Girly Thing: The Art of Shopping

Every girls are different to how they clear their minds from just about anything that is bothering them. For me, shopping or just a good walk in the mall and see pretty things can make me feel better. Except today I did plan on shopping for "necessities".

Some girls love to shop with their friends, I do. but I always feel like it's hard to find someone who I can go shopping with. Why? They have different taste in fashion, do not like my taste, and do not respect my taste.

There was a girl I know who somewhat have the same sense of fashion as I do for glamorous clothing, but the only difference is that she likes to show skin that is unnecessary for they do not need to be put out there more than they already are. I am surprised and amazed and glad that someone at her age knows fashion already, but when it comes to a more conservative clothing such as working clothes, she would make ignorant comments.

The point is that when you are shopping especially for clothes, take someone who understands your style whether or not they have the same style as you do because it's fun when you both are searching something for yourself and find something your friend would like. If there is no one to take with you, go by yourself. It can be peaceful and fun at the same time for you do not need to have that awkward split up-and-see-you-later moment with your friend. Also you don't have anyone to wait on while they or you are trying clothes out.

As much as we want to dress up, if you know you're going to try many clothes it's better to wear something you can get out and get in easily especially if the fitting room only allows you to take just a few to try on and makes you come back for another few over and over again. The best clothes you can wear is actually a loose fitting dress, why? it's a one time slip out of your body. A tight dress would make you spend time to struggle getting in and out of it such as your hair getting stuck and your arm and breast and butt making the dress hard to fall down easily. If your not in a dressy mood, go for the casual shorts and cute top. If you know EXACTLY what you are looking for it would help greatly. For example you're looking for a top, you have your bottoms already to see whether it would look good on you, thus no need to get bottoms "just coz". Loose cardigans is also nice if you don't feel like showing skin and it's easy to get out from.

Shopping is easier when you actually know what you want to buy, keeps you focused on what you are looking for.

Quick review on the things I bought and why I bought them. Boscia Black Luminizing Mask; I actually have been wanting to one from an online shop. It was either that or the Origins charcoal mask. Boscia Bright White Mask; I always am on a look out for something to brighten my complexion and hopefully lighten my face a little. Sephora Color Reveal Lipbalm; I fell in love with the Dior Lip Glow and saw this dupe and decided i'd give it a go. Too Faced Perfectly Flawless Concealer; this is my second tube for I fell in love with this concealer, i'm glad I bought this baby the first time it came out. Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme; where I live these "lip plumping serum" is still new in the market and the first one that I know of was the Dior lip plumper that goes with the Dior lip glow. I wanted to try this because it's glossy but not sticky.

So, back to what I was saying before. Going shopping not knowing what you want can make you cry out of the wallet or leave the mall thinking you just wasted your time, unless you planned on just going to walk around to fresh your mind.

If you are going alone, organizing walking plan of which stores you're going in to helps, how? it saves more time from going back and forth instead you're going in a circle of a floor once. Also start from a store that you know you would find what you're looking for, but don't buy it yet if you do find what you're looking for at the first store you went to. Be a smart shopper! You might find something better and/or budget friendlier that the one in the previous store. This doesn't make you "cheap", we are girls, we have needs and wants, a lot of needs and wants.

These are just some things I think about before going shopping, it may sound complicated but I was a student that required to structure and organize things out. I find it smart and whether or not I find what I need or want, I leave the mall without feeling like I just wasted money and time.

Bits of Life: is someone there?

There was a time when life seemed so amazing that everyday was filled with joy and hope. Nobody saw what was coming until a tragedy struck. A tragedy that broke the heart of those who cares. Fate that few expected to happen was never fulfilled.

It's always hard to see someone in pain, but it's worse when there is nothing you can do to help but only try to cheer them up instead. For those who have had such tragedy, depending on how lucky they are may find or know someone else who knows exactly how they feel. Unfortunately, those who do not know anyone with an experience as painful as they had may find more trouble to ease themselves from all the emotion.

People with a mind of devastation only want to be companied by those who care for them and will ask nothing in return. They want to feel sheltered and secure just so they won't make any desperate actions that would ruin them. Such desperate actions can be something small that wont affect their life to something that would make them change into a different person. These troubled minded people can seem to be the happiest or the quietest only to hide their real feelings.

If only everyone in this world is as caring and understanding as how we all wish to be.
